JOB PURPOSE:

The Tactical Supervisor is responsible for the Management of a Security Area including but not limited to the management of the Personnel, vehicles, arms equipment the safety program as well as the performance of the personnel on customer sites. The Major objectives and initiatives of this position are as follows:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To continuously improve the quality of the service and performance of personnel (reduce the number of complaints per tactical officer)

2. To meet or exceed objectives and targets.

3. To address all shortcomings.

4. To improve the productivity of the personnel.

5. Manage all administrative functions assigned by Management, inclusive, rostering, time sheets, and pay quarries submitted timeously to the admin lady.

6. Arranging replacement officer/s should members book off-sick or not be able to report for duty to cover the shift.

7. To continuously reduce the maintenance on vehicles as well as traffic fines.

8. Monitoring crime trends in your area of responsibility and applying pro-active measures.

9. Identify members to attend Training interventions

10. To increase the number of arrests per Tactical Team at sites where possible

11. To reduce the number of incidents as well as the number of injuries.

12. To address and attend to all client requests to the best of your ability.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Management of Personnel to ensure above average performance by personnel as well as a service that at least meet customer requirement.

2. To ensure the completion of customer reports/documents, incidents reports, checklists and rosters.

3. Ensure that members are scheduled for training on request from Manager / Client.

4. Client Satisfaction/formal investigations of complaints and written investigation reports to customers.

5. Vehicle management (Monthly fuel summaries, weekly inspections on company vehicles, controlling the fuel budget, scheduling of services with the assistance from Logistical department) when applicable.

6. Monthly submission of documentation for example (Expense vouchers, Appraisals, Time sheets, vehicle trip-log sheet)

7. Initiator at disciplinary and grievance procedures (Attending CCMA cases when required)

9. Be available for Special Operational duties.

10. Carrying out of Physical Firearm inspection.

11. Accounting for the amount of ammunition issued – Checking and counting ammunition

twice a week. Checking for defects on ammunition.

12. Ensuring that firearm licenses and members firearm competencies are valid and not expired.

13. Inspecting and ensuring the firearm permit book is properly completed after every shift

change.

14. Inspecting and ensuring that the abbreviated combined daily weapons & ammunition register

is correctly completed.

15. Carry out and ensure that tactical vehicles are clean on the inside and outside.

16. Defects and damage to vehicles must be reported immediately to the manager accompanied

by written reports and photos of the damage incurred.

JOB CHALLENGES:

3. To prevent theft by ensuring that the personnel force is disciplined, alert, innovative and well trained as well as continuous improvement of security systems, strategies and measurements.
4. To supply information to the Manager regarding Site Operational Procedure that needs to be improved in order for the Manager to convince clients to improve their security systems and support systems.

PLANNING:


1. Plan completion of weekly or monthly reports.
2. Plan performance reviews.
3. Plan meetings.
4. Plan scheduling of Rosters on Training requests.
5. Daily, Weekly, monthly tasks and activities (dairy)
6. Annual leave for Personnel

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. Valid and updated PSIRA Grade B Certificate (Grade A advantageous)
2. must be Neat And presentable at all times
3. Tactical Armed Response Experience
4. Valid Driver's License
5. Valid 3 Firearms Competency Certificate
6. Firearms Training Certificate for Business Purposes
7. 4-5 years’ experience in security management
8. Should not fear dogs
9. Good communicator (written and verbal) and report writing
